Thomas Schröder
BiografieThomas Schröder studierte Elektrotechnik mit Schwerpunkt Telekommunikation in Hamburg. Nach einem Jahr als Trainee begann er 1994 als Key Account Manager Northern Germany bei Philips Business Communications. Ab 1997 wechselte er in den Bereich Healthcare and Hospitality mit Schwerpunkt Telekommunikationslösungen und Sales Verantwortung. Es folgte die Position als Manager Direct Sales Germany mit der Vertriebsverantwortung für die Bereiche Healthcare, Fertigung und öffentliche Auftraggeber. Im Jahr 2001 übernahm Thomas Schröder als General Manager and Direct Sales and Marketing Germany die Führung des gesamten Bereiches Philips Business Communications Germany und leitete Strategie, Operations, direkten und indirekten Vertrieb sowie Marketing. Im Jahr 2004 folge der Wechsel zur Sun Microsystems GmbH als Director Industry Sales Organisation und Mitglied der Geschäftsleitung. In dieser Position lag die Verantwortung für das Direktkundengeschäft in enger Abstimmung mit dem indirekten Vertrieb. Von Oktober 2007 an übernahm Thomas Schröder als Vice President und Geschäftsführer die Leitung der Sun Microsystems GmbH und somit die Verantwortung für die strategische Ausrichtung und Geschäftsentwicklung. Seit Juli 2009 ist er als Vice President für die Region Central Europe zuständig. Diese umfasst die Länder Deutschland, Schweiz, Österreich, Tschechische Republik, Ungarn, Polen und die Slowakei. In 1997, he moved to the Healthcare and Hospitality division, focusing on telecommunications solutions and sales, and became Manager Direct Sales Germany with responsibility for the fields of Healthcare, Production and Public Clients. In 2001, Thomas Schröder was appointed General Manager and Direct Sales and Marketing Germany, heading Philips' Business Communications Germany division and managing the Strategy, Operations, Direct and Indirect Sales and Marketing units. He moved to Sun Microsystems GmbH in 2004 to take up the position of Director Industry Sales Organisation and Executive Manager, where he was responsible for direct customer business in close coordination with Indirect Sales. Thomas Schroeder has been Vice President of Sun Microsystems GmbH from 2007 until July 2009.
