Die Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI ) veranstaltet bereits seit 1999 die Informatiktage, bei
denen ausgewählte Studierende auf Unternehmensvertreter treffen. Die ca. 100 Teilnehmer-
innen und Teilnehmer der Informatiktage müssen sich um die limitierten Plätze bewerben und
werden durch unser Hochschulnetzwerk ausgewählt.
Ausgewählte Studierende arbeiten in Workshops mit Unternehmensvertretern gemeinsam an
wirtschaftsrelevanten Projekten, treffen im persönlichen Gespräch auf Repräsentanten einzelner
Firmen und präsentieren sich und ihre Arbeit einem größeren Publikum.

ZKI Frühjahrstagung

Nachdem in den vergangenen Jahren Campusmanagement und IT-Dienste für Lehre und Verwaltung zentrale Themen waren, wird für 2010 „IT-Dienste für die Hochschulforschung“ thematisiert.

Parallel Programming in Computational Engineering and Science (PPCES)
HPC Seminar and Workshop

This event will continue the tradition of previous annual SunHPC events and last year's PPCES event taking place in Aachen since 2001. We keep continuously changing the format a little bit over the years. This year we are going to include a half day workshop on GPGPU programming for the first time.
As usual, we will cover parallel programming using OpenMP and MPI in Fortran and C/C++ with a focus on the Linux and Windows Platforms.

e-Energy 2010 is the first international conference on energy-efficient computing and networking. The spreading of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has contributed much to the reduction of energy consumption in many areas of everyday life. Nevertheless ICT has to move ahead and be more energy-efficient itself. The conference addresses the fields of servers and communication infrastructures, services in data centers, end-systems in home and office environments, sensor networks, and future networks such as the Future Internet.

6th black forrest workshop

The initiative with the name Black Forest Grid started the construction of a GRID computer system, which will in combination with globally distributed computing resources provide the opportunity for doing numerical research of hitherto infeasible dimensions.
On a Workshop on 4-15-2010 at the Rechenzentrum of the university, well known speakers for research centers and the industry will highlight different aspects of GRID computing and give examples of applications thereof in the fields of pharmazeutical bioinformatics, massive parallel processing on GPUs, computational and elementary particles physics.

Ψk Conference 2010

The Ψk-2010 conference will take place in Berlin, Germany, from September 12 to 16. It starts with registration on Sunday, September 12 at 2:00 p.m., and the first scientific talk is scheduled for Monday, September 13 at 8:30 a.m. The program ends on Thursday, September 16 at 4:00 p.m.
Like the three previous Ψk meetings (1996, 2000, 2005), Ψk-2010 will cover theoretical and computational research on electronic structure and properties of matter, ranging from novel basic concepts and methods to applications for condensed matter and real functional materials to systems of biological interest.
Ψk-2010 aims at fostering scientific exchange and outreach. The format includes about 5 plenary lectures and topical symposia with about 100 invited talks as well as many contributed talks and a poster session. With more than 600 participants expected, it will be a key event for senior and junior colleagues in the field, offering an atmosphere of intense and enjoyable work as well as chances to explore the vibrant city of Berlin.
