Summary	:	Said job function is alloted to the Professional Services Delivery (PSD) department within Sun Microsystems GmbH, Germany. This position will primarily act as technical lead architect in delivery projects. As such, the person in question will architect and design JEE (Java Enterprise Edition), SOA- (Service Oriented Architecture) and BI- (Business Integration) related solutions that constitute the scaffolding for an efficient and optimized implementation of customer requirements. She/he will support and consult with the commercial project manager and customer representatives in all project-related technical issues. As lead architect, she/he will break down implementation tasks, assign them to the project team and control respectively check work results regarding their technical compliance with the overall architectural concept.
Description, Skills, Education & Experience	:	Responsibilities and Accountabilities * responsible for the technical aspects of the entire project delivery cycle - during elaboration phase, designs a JEE / SOA / BI solution based on thorough analysis and inventory of the existing software infrastructure; the resulting architectural design meets customer requirements in the best possible way - during construction phase, assures developers adhere to said technical design; supervises development staff to monitor work progress and to address staffing issues with commercial project manager - when architectural adjustments are necessary, performs impact analysis and works with commercial project manager and analyst to adjust schedule, staff, budget, or requirements - accompanies and responsibly manages final solution rollout * provides timely and accurate project updates, reports and escalations to management and responsible sales representatives * participates in designing and developing architectural prototypes * provides technical expertise on Java/JEE, SOA and BI technologies * using design specifications and working closely with the customer, configures, develops, and implements the according solution components Qualifications and Experience * at least 7 years of software development experience; strong track record as software architect or consultant * good understanding of JEE, SOA and application integration business drivers (e.g. interoperability, platform independence, compliance, business process orchestration and collaboration) * excellent technology background and skills in the JEE and SOA areas, especially in web technologies, SOA design and governance approaches; experience with one or more of the following technologies/products is a requirement: - J2EE/JEE5-based software design (esp. Servlet / JSP / JSF / Web Services / EJB standards), including software modelling experience with the UML - Web Services Frameworks (e.g. Metro, Axis) - any J2EE/JEE5-compatible application server (e.g. GlassFish, BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere) * good technology background and skills in the BI area, especially in integration technologies; experience with one or more of the following technologies/products is beneficial: - Sun JCAPS, IBM SOA Foundation suite, SAP NetWeaver Suite, BEA AquaLogic Suite, etc. - SOA governance products (e.g. Layer7) - Java Business Integration (JBI) and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) concepts * Java/JEE-related certifications expected * project resp. implementation experience with the products / frameworks / technologies mentioned above * good project management skills * good team player * displays high levels of energy and drive, thrives under pressure, with strong business acumen, strong process orientation and excellent verbal and written communication skills * willingness to travel regularly (within the region) is assumed * fluent in written and spoken German and English (proficiency) * degree in Computer Science or equivalent "The Network is the Computer"
